Year in Review – How am I doing? #1

I started this blog with this post – How to be Awesome before 30. Yes, the title is about calling myself awesome and the fact that I reached 30, but more importantly it is an attempt at acknowledging and being grateful for some of the best things in my life. Since then this blog with its sporadic posts is something I have really liked writing. The fact that it is for my “Higher Reasoning” allows me to develop certain thoughts which I cannot talk with everyone around me. Because they are ‘higher’ reasoning. 😉

A quick look at the various posts reminds me of the quick phases that happened through this year in my mentalscape.

The Yuga Theory: This was quite a passionate digging up of lot of info around Yuga theory and astronomical possibility of our Sun having a binary star companion. Was very enjoyable. During this did my passion for astronomy get rekindled? I don’t know… could also be the Sidewalk astronomy events where I put up my telescope in a public space and showed interested passersby the Moon through it.

The research topic that has also intrigued me is,

Kaal Bhairava – The overlap of Jainism & Hinduism. I got into Kaal Bhairava with the Ashtakam bhajan by Sounds of Isha. Then visited Varanasi. Researched a lot about this deity. All of sudden stumbled upon the fact that this is the one deity that is part of Jainism as well! Oh surprise, surpise!

Apart from this I have begun to think out many things especially customs, traditions and so on. Like an exploration of the Michchami Dukkadam tradition of Jainism.

So overall, I am glad to see how this blog has progressed. This means a lot to me, because as I mentioned earlier, these are not matters of usual conversation. These research and in-depth thinking is something I have found very enriching in my past year. Writing it out, and it did bring about a few conversations has been an interesting value add to my life.

But this is a blog where I want to put a little bit about how I do my “How am I doing” evaluation. Because that evaluation – whether done consciously or unconsciously is something by which one lives their life. Will write more of it…. but till then here is a really good video by @SadhguruJV, on this same evaluation …..
